Mind Your Money hosted Manchester’s fourth Financial Inclusion Conference on Monday 26th September 2016. It was the largest conference so far with over 130 people attending. The conference was in partnership with Manchester City Council who part funded the conference along with Mind Your Money. Dave Power chaired the conference and Cllr Bernard Priest, and Diane Burridge from Moneyline were speakers in the morning. The Mind Your Money Team prepared a celebration video of the work they have completed over the past three years and Martin Lewis of Money Saving Expert sent a personalised video message which went down a storm!

Delegates were given choices of six workshops led by Barclays Banks, Innerspace Manchester, Healthy Me, Healthy Communities, Beacon Counselling, Enterprise Bridge CIC and Department for Work and Pensions.

The afternoon started with guest speaker Dr Sarah Marie Hall about her research Everyday Austerity and broadcaster, writer and lecturer Claudia Hammond delivered a fascinating talk about money and psychology. Creative Experts then joined us to ‘rap ‘ up the key messages and themes of the day. They also recruited an extra two crew members, Dave Power and Claudia Hammond who battled a word pyramid. Dave Power then announced that One Manchester will be continuing the Financial Inclusion Conference for Manchester as Mind Your Money comes to an end on 30th September 2016. Dave then invited all delegates to join him for a drinks reception, book signing by Claudia Hammond and a look at Dr Sarah Hall’s exhibition based on her research.
